The Export Council for Building Materials announced an increase in marble and granite exports during January 2021

to reach 176,481 thousand tons, compared to 168,085 thousand tons during the same month of 2020, with a growth rate of 5%. The value of marble and granite exports during January increased by 19% to reach 21 million dollars, compared to $18 million
The report of the Export Council for Building Materials showed that there are about exports to 67 countries, including 13 countries that were dealt with before during January 2020, including Djibouti, Croatia, Tunisia, Tanzania, Lithuania, Ukraine, Iceland, Portugal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Mozambique, Peru, Heng King.

Five countries (Libya, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Algeria, China) accounted for 56.4% of Egypt's total exports of marble and granite, with a value of $11.841 million, with a volume of about 114,259 thousand tons, or 64.7% of the quantity.

Saudi Arabia came in second place as the most important importing country for Egyptian marble and granite, with a growth rate of 19% to reach $2.784 million, through exporting 22,505 thousand tons, compared to $2.343 million.

The value of Egypt's exports of marble and granite to South Korea increased by 13% to reach $2.372 million, by exporting 25.77 thousand tons, compared to $1.015 million, and to Turkey by 804 percent, to reach $950,000, compared to $105,000.
